It can make mincemeat out of flesh and stone and given enough time, it will get through metal as well. In its standard mode, it produces a blade of plasma that can cut through just about anything. The Plasma Cutter can be used in one of two ways. Most famously Isaac Clark who we will be looking at for this examination. Though not technically a weapon, the Plasma Cutter has been improvised as such by several characters in the series. As such, it is very common in the world of Dead Space.
In a similar fashion to the real world plasma cutter, the one we see in Dead Space is intended as a high power cutting tool. The Plasma Cutter is a futuristic power tool that exists within the future depicted in the Dead Space series.
